Two Assistant Profs Win Career Awards

Two College of Natural Sciences assistant professors have won the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award.

Işıl Dillig of the Department of Computer Science received a CAREER Award for her research into automatically testing the correctness of software.

Ilya Finkelstein of the Department of Molecular Biosciences received a CAREER Award to study mechanisms of genome maintenance using a unique combination of biochemistry, single-molecule microscopy and microfluidics.

The NSF CAREER Award is among the most prestigious awards for junior faculty and comes with five years of research funding.
