Double sided tape

This file recollects Nacho’s experiences with tapes. The objective was to use the laser cutter for making complex channels for quartz slides. Most of them were negative result as of 3/31/15

1. Summary

The tape that makes the best DNA curtains is the 3M 665 tape that has the 400 and 1070 adhesives. Acrylic adhesives seem to be fine for making good DNA curtains. This pattern was taken with a polyester tape called Double Tack Mounting FILM y_chennel_presentation.pptx

3. Tesa-4970-Tackified-Acrylic-Adhesion PVC 4970 tape
4. Aleenes-Tacky-Double-Stick-Sheets-200 Low melting point tape (dead link)
5. 3M-Transfer-Tape-468Mp Acrylic tape only (dead link) 2 types of acrylic adhesives 468 and 200MP each on one side.
6. 3M 665 tape that has the 400 and 1070 adhesives uPVC tape (dead link)

2.1 Tested in May 2015

1. 3M 9576 Propylene tape Propylene 9576 tape PDF
2. 3M 666 665-is-double-sided-sticky-tape-upvc.pdf tape that has the 400 and 1070 adhesives uPVC tape

• 3M 666 behaves the same as 3M 656 which is the regular uPVC tape we use all the time.
• 3M 9576 cleaves dsDNA and makes shorter curtains.
