(d)NTPs will degrade if not stored properly. Degraded nucleotides may screw up your PCR/replication assays. If you follow these simple guidelines, your dNTPs will be stable for years:

  • Aliquot in small, 10-20uL tubes
  • Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles
  • Store at a concentration above 10 mM
  • store at -20C
  • Always keep on ice and do not store at 4C for any length of time
