1. Overview

Vacuum Oven The Finkelstein lab uses the vacuum oven to keep debris from adhering to our precious slides. There will always be a vacuum linked to the vacuum oven so please make sure the door is properly sealed using vacuum grease. The vacuum oven will always be on. Always.

2. Operation

Section titled “2. Operation”
  1. Turn on the vacuum pump.
  2. Make sure the knobs for vacuum and purge are turned clockwise all the way.
  3. Turn on the vacuum oven and set temperature to 150C, about 10 on the temperature knob.
  4. Slowly open the vacuum knob.
  5. When slides need to be added or removed, close the vacuum knob and open the purge the chamber via the purging knob.

  • This is the manual for the previous model. Luckily it is only one step down and they look exactly the same. I think/suspect, nothing but the year has changed.
